A Quick Computerized English Test for Academic Purposes The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) is an online exam designed to assess college-level English proficiency. Over 3,300 schools in 140 nations recognize it, as do numerous government organizations and immigration departments. The test is divided into four modules: Speaking - You will record yourself speaking in response to a variety of prompts, such as describing a graph or giving a presentation. Listening  - You will listen to a variety of audio recordings, such as lectures, conversations, and news broadcasts, and answer questions about what you have heard. Reading - You will read a variety of texts, such as academic articles, emails, and reports, and answer questions about what you have read. Writing - You will write a variety of texts, such as summaries, essays, and reports. The test takes a total of two hours to complete.
