Theme of this season is Car As A Platform (CAAP)
CAAP essentially features a software at the heart of vehicle development, forming an ecosystem of various in-car services and subscriptions for purpose of utility, entertainment, security, consumer payment, among others. This technology will evolve with time, making vehicles safer and smarter.
MGDP is inviting participation from start-ups, developers, or individuals under various categories in CAAP: Utility (e.g. location tracking, GPS navigation, search, payment, travel, food delivery), Security (e.g. car and driver analytics), and Entertainment (e.g. games, music/video streaming, OTT, etc.)
MG Motor India introduces Developer Program and Grant 3.0 in partnership with Invest India, StartupIndia and AGNIi and technology leaders like Jio, MapMyIndia, Adobe, SAP, Bosch, L&TTS, and KoineArth. MGDP is an annual flagship innovation program, which aims to encourage developers and innovators, to build new technologically advanced applications and experiences to strengthen India's mobility space.
It is open to external developers (students, innovators, inventors, start-ups and other tech companies) as well as internal teams of intrapreneurs at MG Motor and partner companies. This program seeks solutions by verticals to make the entire ecosystem better by developing new applications. The program offers mentorship and recognition to start-ups along with the opportunity to develop projects and work with MG and consortium partners.
WHY PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM
The program offers a unique opportunity for innovators and developers to work directly with MG Motor and its technology partners to bring solution to market quickly. The consortium behind the program shall provide :
- Specialized, high level mentoring, relevant to practical development of the solution
- Learning and relevant content for solution and business development
- Business plan and modelling
- Provide testing/ lab facility where possible
- Network with other participants within the program to drive synergy
- Access to other startup and develop programs of consortium members, opening up a large opportunity
- Recognition with PR opportunity for winning startups
- Access to a grant amount. (Award of grant would be at the sole discretion of program jury, based on their evaluation, on a case to case basis.)

- The program is open for application from external developers (students, innovators, inventors, start-ups and other tech companies) as well as internal teams of intrapreneurs at MG Motor and partner companies.

Procedure Post Submission
1. Applicants to submit application online
2. Shortlisted startups would be assigned a mentor to develop their ideas
3. Present the idea on Demo Day (Dates and venue to be announced) to Jury
4. Jury selects winners for grant and recognition
5. Shortlisted companies and winners may also get opportunity to test/ develop their solutions with one of the member companies. This would be decided and enabled by the assigned mentor
