What is on Today's Google Homepage? Chandrayaan-3 Landing

Google Doodle Celebrates Indian's Chandrayaan-3 Landing on south pole. India made history on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, when its Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft successfully landed on the moon. The landing was the culmination of a years-long effort by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), and it marks a major milestone for India's space program. Chandrayaan-3 is the third lunar mission of India. The first, Chandrayaan-1, was launched in 2008 and orbited the moon for a year. The second, Chandrayaan-2, was launched in 2019 and was intended to land a lander and rover on the moon's surface. However, the lander crashed during the final approach, preventing the rover from being deployed. Chandrayaan-3 was designed to learn from the mistakes of Chandrayaan-2 and to achieve a soft landing on the moon. The spacecraft consists of a lander, a rover, and an orbiter. The lander, named Vikram, touched down on the moon's surface at 6:15 p.m. IST (12:45 p.m. GMT). The rover, named P...

But the lander crashed as it got close to the surface, so the robot couldn't be sent out. Chandrayaan-3 was built to learn from Chandrayaan-2's mistakes and land gently on the moon. There is a lander, a rover, and an orbiter on the spaceship. The Vikram lander landed on the surface of the moon at 6:15 IST (12:45 GMT). What is on Today's Google Homepage? India Independence Day 2023

Google Doodle Celebrates - India Independence Day | 15 August Today's Doodle is a celebration of India's Independence Day. It was drawn by Namrata Kumar, a guest artist from New Delhi. On this day in 1947, India got rid of British rule and started a new era.  A ceremony is held every year at Red Fort in Delhi, where the Prime Minister is present, to mark the first day of freedom. People sing the national anthem and honor the people who led the fight for freedom. Movies about freedom fighters are shown on TV, and in schools and neighborhoods, children take part in plays and games as part of cultural events. Many people choose to spend this holiday with their families, friends, and neighbors. Flying kites on Independence Day has been a custom for a long time, so don't forget to look up and spot a few tricolor kites flying high in the sky. Happy Independence Day to all my fellow citizens!
